This edition of the book Statistics in Psychology and Education is authored by the worthy writer, Henry E. Garrett. The book has been published by the well-known Surjeet Publications. The book is helpful for the students pursuing BA Psychology and MA Psychology under Panjab University, Chandigarh. This book is expected to help those students whose major interest lies in applying statistical methods to problems in psychology and education. Moreover, a new chapter has also been added to provide proof of several key formula’s which are illustrated in the text, and several techniques have been outlined too. The book comprises three parts. The first part discusses Descriptive Statistics covering frequency distribution, measures of central tendency, measures of variability, cumulative distributions, graphic methods and percentiles, normal distribution, and linear correlation. Part II deals with inference and prediction comprehensively. And, Part III covers special topics- correlations and test constructions. The book is characterized by analysis of variance, treated briefly, whereby the value of this attack upon certain problems is indicated. However, highly specialized techniques such as factor analysis have not been included.
